The 64MT Portable Thermal Oxidizer is designed to oxidize all organic contaminants remaining in the air stream. The heat source is a 25 MMBtu/hr burner. The oxidizer chamber is insulated with 8” thick ceramic fiber. This chamber is capable of temperatures up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. With the combination of a variable retention time of 1.5 to 2.0 seconds this oxidizer can achieve better than 99.9% destruction efficiency. The oxidizer is considered Best Available Control Technology (B.A.C.T.) in the destruction of dioxins. On past project experience in treating soils contaminated with dioxin precursors, the destruction efficiencies exceeded 99.99%.
